Meridian Awarded Meal Reimbursement from the Florida Department of Elder Affairs. Gainesville, Fla. – Meridian Behavioral Healthcare Inc., has once again received the necessary funding to provide nutritious and balanced meals to qualifying adults clients receiving care at Meridian.

Since 2008, the Florida Department of Elder Affairs has provided Meridian Behavioral Healthcare with the financial support needed to supply thousands of meals at no additional charge to clients.

As of July 31, 2019, Meridian has provided free meals to over 113 adults throughout North Central Florida.

During the month of July alone, Meridian provided 969 meals to nonresidential clients that are functionally impaired and low income.

Without the availability of these meals, many individuals would go hungry. Meals will be available at no separate charge to enrolled eligible participants at the center(s) listed below and will be provided regardless of race, color, national origin, age, disability, sex, gender identity, religion, reprisal, and where applicable, political beliefs, marital status, familial or parental status, sexual orientation.

Participants eligible for free and/or reduced-price meals must complete an application with documentation of eligibility information including number and names of all household members, Social Security Number of the head of household/primary wage earner or adult signing the application or an indication that a household member does not have one, total monthly household income or Food Stamps, SS1, or Medicaid identification number, and the signature of an adult care center participant.
